(Reverse order entries)
May 9, 2000:
During the homestretch, I may have forgotten to mention some things, so here's the rest of the new inside stuff (railings, fireplace, closet, etc.), starting with the new pull-down stairs for the attic over the "old side" of the house:
and the railing:
and the master bedroom closet:
and the fireplace, in case I forgot to include it elsewhere:
January 24, 2000:
Well, it's been almost as long as a full-term pregnancy, but here are the almost-final shots of the inside. (It's down to a bathroom mirror and railings for the stairs, and then the inside is officially done.
No bedroom furniture or window treatments yet, but here's official proof that I now live up here. Something new for a bedroom in this house... the morning sun. (It's taking a while to get used to that.)
Then the office... as with the bedroom, the Furniture.com order is scheduled to arrive in March.
Then the vanity, the ceiling, and the jacuzzi.
Two shots of the shower with the latest addition, the shower doors. (Installed two days ago... so the tape remains for another day and then the shower can be used.)
And another angle of the completed jacuzzi/shower combo.
Wednesday, October 20th:
The hardwood floor has been installed upstairs:
That's the bedroom. Below is the upstairs 'office':
And the painting is almost done downstairs:
(Living room on the left, dining room on the right.)
Tuesday, September 14:
Where did the summer go? Better question: where did the workers go? Well, I don't know the answer to either, but at least now that it's September, I've got some progress to show. As of today, this is what the inside looks like.
Sunday, July 25:
OK... I've finally updated this page with some inside progress. But you'll see that it's no where near where I expected it would be after such a fast start in May. That's because almost nothing happened in June as the plumber and the electrician were both doing other jobs.
I'll start with a picture of the bedroom, the side closet, and on the far right, the walk-in closet with the natural light octagon window (you, too, could own an Andersen Octagon window for only $475!). You can kind of see that the electrical, phone, and cable are also in place:
Here's a picture of the room I was standing in when the above picture was taken. The sliding glass doors lead out to the balcony above the deck.
To the left of the sitting room (from the perspective of the bedroom) is the bathroom. Here are two pictures of that room:
Also, some electrical updates. First the wiring and lighting in the front hallway, and then something I'm very excited about... lighting for the porch! (No more checking the steak on the grill with a flashlight!... Of course, after this project is done the only thing that grill will be seeing is hot dogs!)
Then the old stuff from May:
I think starting Monday, May 17, a lot has changed on the inside:
New windows in the dining room!
A look at the open stairs from the living room... and a view from the back bedrooms. (Compare this to the picture of the hallway in the before shots!
And a new bay window in the living room... cause what's a few thousand dollars when you really get rolling anyway???
